Ever wish you could get remove the Recycle Bin icon from your desktop? Would you like to skip the Recycle Bin functionality altogether and just delete your files directly?
#1For Windows XP Professional Edition.
Run
gpedit.msc from the
Run dialog box.
Go to
User Configuration --> Administrative Templates --> Desktop.
Configure the setting
Remove recycle bin from desktop, by double-clicking on it and choose the setting
Enabled and click
OK.
Note: To make changes to this setting effective, you must log off and then log back on.
#2 For Windows XP Home Edition.
Run
regedit.exe from the
Run dialog box.
Find this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanelEdit the
{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E} DWORD value and set the value to
0x00000001.
